The monthly meeting of the Lower Hutt W.C.T.U. was lie'.d in their hall on Tuesday. Mrs. Kcay (president) occupicd the chair. Tho resignation of the secretary was tendered owing to her continued ilihealth, and was accepted with much regret. Mrs. Chrftiield was appointed to fill the vacant position. Tho l'hoenix Lodge of Good Templars invited the union to a meeting, to bo held next month. Tho invitation was accepted. It was decidcd to hold another medal contest shortly.' Mrs. Kcay, delegate to the convention, read a splendid report from the convention, which was very much appreciated by the union. Mrs. .Keay was elected a New Zealand superintendent by tho convention. After several amounts were passed for payment, tho members adjourned to tho residence of Mrs. Knight, where they Were entertained at afternoon tea
