SHEPHERD'S BUSH EXHIBITS.
The Now Zealand Government's exhibits afl the Shepherd's Bush Exposition, London, will include the first grain exhibit ever sent Home from this country.' The grain, iii'this year of abundance, is declared to ho of. very line quality. The Garton and Newmarket oafs weigh 51 pounds per bushel, which is remarkably heavy for oats. The usual averago weight of a bushel of oats' is about 40 pounds. Tho other varieties and their .weights are tho following:—Dun, 4SIb.; Wavcrloy, 001b.; Excelsior, 411b.; Webb's Prolific, 441b.; Sparrowbill, 481b.; Danish and Long Tartarian. -■- . The ryegrass seed averages 3011). per bushel, timothy 471b., fescue "JGlb. There aro also seeds of rape, cocksfoot, liorso beans, linseed, whito clovcr, cowgrass, etc. The varieties of peas aro Ivory White, Blue Prussian, Partridge, Imperial Blue, and Yorkshire Hero. Velvet chaff, Tuscan Pearl, and rod chaff or Hunter's W'iiito nro the only varieties of , wheat grain yet forwarded, the early threshings of other varieties yielding grain that was out of condition. Later samples will bo forwarded. Sheaves have been collected of Border, Webb's Champion, Carter's Cross, Bed King, While Winter, M'Callnm's Solid Straw, Solid Straw Tuscan, Velvet Chaff, Marshall's White Chaff, Hunter's White, Velvet Tuscan, White Tuscan, Velvet Ear, and Bed Tuscan. The oat sheaves arc of tho varieties Tartarian, Danish, black Tartarian, Gart-ons, Bosobery, WaVerley, Pringlo's Beauty, Sparrowbills, and Tartar King. Sheaves of barley and liorso beans'are also included in tho exhibit. 'All the specimens aro declared to bo exceedingly good.
