THE NEW WAIRARAPA VENTURE.
PROBABLE ACCESSIONS OF STRENGTH. The . Wellington Co-operative Farmers' Freezing Company proposal is likely to receive an unexpected impetus from - dairyfarmers (writes our travelling correspondent). Farmers and dairy-factory managers, who were engaged at the Arbitration Court at Palmerston North yesterday, expressed the_ opinion generally that it would bo to their advantage to co-operate with the new scheme, owing to its possibilities in providing . proper cold storage accommodation in AVellington. A Wairarapa cheese factory manager stated that, at the present time, there was no regular system for taking in cold storage goods at Wellington, that compared with the facilities, at New Plymouth. Tho system of grading also was conducted in a very casual way. What was wanted, he said, was a building for cold storage accommodation and grading work, of easy access to shipping, and situated where it could be reached easily by either line of railway running into Wellington. These views were generally approved by a number of prominent dairymen present, and the opinion was further ' expressed that the dairy companies would bo wise if they made representations to the hew company concerning their interests, it is very likely that the subject will be further discussed at the next monthly meeting of the companies.
