PATEA TEADE. Much has been said lately, about the bad state of tho Patea bar and river. The Aorere, which left hero ou Tuesday, arrived there at 9.20 a.m. yesterday, discharged her cargo, loaded with wool, and, about, three hours later, left again for Wellington She successfully worked the port, both in and out on the one tide, and on tho outward run was drawing about Bft. 6in. The Aorere is duo early this morning, and leaves for Patea again at s.this evening. . LADY WOLSLEY ARRIVES. At fonr o'clock yesterday afternoon tho barque Lady Wolsley, 1205 tons, Captain Stephens, from Liverpool, arrived in • tho stream in tow of the Duco, which picked her up in the Strait about noon. Tho vessel loft Liverpool on November 8, and at the commencement of'the voyage encountered head winds. When running down the easting, baffling winds prevailed, and prevented good sailing. Throughout the long voyage flno weather prevailed, being, in fact, too fine to be of much assistance to the barque. She arrived in good. order, although her hull is fairly dirty after the long voyage. With the exception of tho boatswain meeting with a slight accident whilst making tho easting, the voyage was without incident. Pratique was granted'/ yesterday, and this morning tho Lady Wolsley will berth ati No. 3, Queen's Wharf. She comes consigned to Messrs. Johnston and Co., and has about 1400 ton 3 of cargo for Wellington, and a similar amount for Dunedin, where she proceeds after completing dischargo here. COIUNTHIO'S PROGRAMME. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.'s liner Corinthic is expected to leavo Wellington on Saturday for Lyttclton. The vessel completes discharge there, and will visit coastal ports as follow:—Tiranru, Thursday, April 8; Lyttelton, Sunday, April 11; and at Wellington, Friday, April 16. The vessel will leave Wellington finally on April 22 for London, via the usual way ports. HIVEMNY FROM SYDNEY. Early yesterday morning the Huddart-Parkcr steamer Kiverina arrived in tho stream from Sydney direct, having occupied J days 13 hours in the run across the Tasman Sea. She experienced fresh S.E. winds and moderate fi. swell with clear and fine weather throughout. Imports by the Eiverina include the following items:—227 boxes soap, 146 packages tea, 92 Ingots tin, 226 lengths pipe, 240 cases fruit, 37 boxes nails, 20 cases bejr, MB pieces timber, 210 block 3 asphalte. quantity pig iron, SCO bags salt, 625 bags flour. 240 sacks molasses fodder, 63 cases bottles, 120 bogs rice, 41 cases naphtha, 545 packages sultanas, 34 packages almonds, 195 bags figs, 54 bags currants, 503 bags oxide, 96 melons, 44 drums shale oil, transhipments ex Bremen, and a largo cmantity of sundries. She leaves for Ilobart and Melbourne, via southern ports, this afternoon. Tho coastal trader Defender is due to-morrow from Puponga, and, on Monday, sails for Picton and llokitika. Messrs. Baimatync and Co. aro agents for the vessel. Having delivered her cargo of Admiralty coal at Honolulu the Union Company's steamer Kamona left that port on March 18 for Westport. It will bo early next week before tho East Coast trader Flora arrives in Wellington. No time is yet fixed for her sailing on tho return trip. On April 3 tho Union Company's steamer runa loads produce at tho Bluff, and will then work Oamaru and Timaru, en route for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. Inward bound from Greymouth, the Union Company's steamer Kouiata is due early this morning. On discharging tho Wellington portion of her cargo sho proceeds to Lyttelton. At tho present time several Union Company's colliers are laid un at various New Zealand ports, owing to the slackness of trade. Tho Kini is to join the "unemployed" at Wellington. It is reported that tho steamer Clan Ogilvy, which was announced two or three weeks ago to have been chartered for Homeward loading by Mr. G. 11. Scales, is to load a cargo of salt at Edithburg for New Zealand ports. The vessel should arrive in tho Dominion at an early date, and, under the auspices of Mr. Scales, will collect a general cargo for London during April. A Home exchange reports that at the beginning of last month there were in tho West India Dock, London, tho ships Loch Garvc and Loch Trool, well-known Australian traders, both of which have been lying idle in the Thanicß for months past. Both these vessels loaded wool at New Zealand for London under the auspices of tho Scales Line last season.
