CBT TELEORirn—rUESS ASSOCIATION.} Palmerston North, March 24. Tho annual meeting of the Polo Association was held to-night, when delegates were present from Christclmrch, Eernilats, Hawarden, Hawke's Bay, Manawatti, Mangatu, Mangaheia, Varoorn, Tepapa, Poverty Bay, AVaiapu, Wellington, and Rcmuera. Tho balance-sheet showed tho position to be practically the same as last year. It was resolved that the next annual tournament bo held at Christclmrch. His Excellency Lord Phmket was iigi'in asked to accept tho position of patron, and officers Wore elected as follow:—Vice-presi-dent, Mr. Heat-on Rhodes; management committco, Messrs. J. D. Hall, A. Elworthy, H. A. Russell, W. Strang, and J. A. Cooper; lion, secretary, Mr. C. J. Crawford'; lion, auditor, Mr. E. Bucholz. It was resolved that the Excilito ball be the official ball for the coming season, and tho committeo was instructed to import tho samo from England. It was resolved to leave tho matter of pony measurement and registration as at present.
In tlio polo tournament t-o-day handicap cup matches wore continued, Manawntu <Y (handicap 2) defeating Christclmrch (handicap IB) by 17 goals to 10. Hawke's Bay (handicap 7) defeated Mangaheia (handicap G) by 11 goals to 10. Tho semi-finals will bo played to-morrow, and tho finalß for both oups on .Friday.
