RE SANITATION AT EASTBOURNE.
Sir—Tho latest;.imposition is n tax of Is. Gd. per yoar, which amounts to moro than tho general rates. Householders. have to pay sixpenco per week as a sanitary rate, whether necessary or not. If tho tax was mado to make a billet for the sanitary man, by all means lot us have sanitation, hut not by an injustico to the taxpayers. . It is said another loan is on tile tapis; this and other things prevent people from building'at East- ' bourne. A short time since a borough official stated' to a reporter that over .fifty houses have gone up in tho borough within tho last two years. Where are thoy P I cannot see them. ' As to lighting, posts and lamps are here, it is true, but no. light for the past twelve months.—l am, ctc., WATCH-DOG. Eastbourne, March '12.
