SOMALILAND.
DEFENSIVE OPERATIONS AGAINST THE MULLAH, (by telegraph—press association— coptright.) (Rec. March 16, 9.10 p.m.) London, March 16. In tho House of Commons, in justifying a vote of £47,000 for the Somaliland expedition's operations, tho Under-Secretary for the Colonies (Lieutenant-Colonol Seely) said that the Government was determined to pursue a cautious defensivo policy. Mr. Balfour, Leader of tho Opposition, suggested building a road suitable for motor vehicles, as tho troops needed mobility.
