The journal "Novoo Vremya" reports that a thousand Persian horsemen and 500 tribesmen are marching along tho Persian bank of tho river Araxes (dividing for tho greater part of its length tho territories of Russia and Persia), towards Julfa, a Persian town on tho Russian frontier. They havo pillaged and burnt ten villages, and massacred the inhabitants. Many women carrying children on their backs wero shot whilo attempting to swim tho river to the Russian bank.
