Tho following is the programme for the annual convention of the. Now Zealand Women's Christian Temperance Union, which is to bo held in Wellington during this week and part of tho week following :^- This afternoon. —Committee meeting of the New Zealand officers of tho union and members of its executive. Wednesday, March 17. —Reception of delegates in tho Council Chamber of the Town. Hall at 3 p.m. by the Wellington W.O.T.TJ. Thursday, March 18.—Morning session: A prayer meetiug at 9.30 in the Baptist Schoolroom, Vivian Street, where all tho succeeding meetings will be held; roll call; appointment of committees, etc.; president's address. Tho afternoon session—Reports of corresponding secretary, evangelistic and homo meetings; Maori departments, and work among young peoplo. Friday, March 19. —Morning session: Financial report, and reports of committees dealing with 'unfermented wine, hygiene, work among seamen, and prison work. Afternoon meeting: Departmental reports dealing with mothers' meetings, Bible-in-Schools, purity, narcotics, thrift, and flower missions. Saturday, March 20.—Morning session: Report of "White Ribbon"paper, and appointment of editor, sub-editor, and business manager ;' departmental reports dealing with antigambling, and the non-alcoholic treatment of disease. Afternoon: Garden party at Mr. Keene's, at Island Bay. Monday, March 22.—Morning session: Departmental reports dealing with Sabbath observance, literature, legal and Parliamentary, agricultural shows, good citizenship, educational meetings, work in the backblocks, and peace and. arbitration. _ Afternoon session: Arrangements for tho visit of Mrs. Catherine Lent Stevenson; five-minute speeches by delegates 011 "How we kept the two red "letter days"; report of Resolutions' Committee. Tuesday March 23. —Morning; session: Election of New Zealand officers and superintendents of departments; resolutions. Afternoon session: Questions, and general discussion upon the work. Wednesday, March 24. —Unfinished business, and conclusion of convention. Two evening meetings are being aranged in connection with tho convention, when papers and addresses will be delivered, dealing with tho three-fifths majority, tho recent local' option poll, scientific temperance instruction, and tho suffragettes.
