Wodding. At tho Manso on Saturday morning, Mr. Drysdale, overseer of the State Experimental Farm, was married to Mrs. Hanson, widow of tlio lato Mr. William Hanson, of Alexandra. Tho bride wore a tailor-made directoiro costumc, with largo black hat. Sho was attended by her daughter, Miss Beryl Hanson, who was dressed in a tailor-made costumo, with merry widow hat. Tana Doings. On Saturday a garden party was given by Mrs. Howlett at "Estcourt," the residence of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Suisted. The proceedings commenced with a bush hunt. Tho married ladies wore given two minutes' start, then the girls followed, and in. a minute and a half more the men. Flags and strings led them to tho centre, and in about half an hour the hunted had \been brought back to the judgo, who notified tho ovent by firing a gun. The successful finders were; Mr. Cooper, _ Mrs. _ Hodgens, Mrs. Suisted, Miss Waldin, Miss -Kate Waldin, and Mrs. Waldin. ■ After this a sandwich tea was served on tho lawn. The menu contained among others,' tongue, bloater, cucumber, tomato, ginger, cherry, almond, and lettuce sandwiches. Among tho guests were: Mrs. Waldin and party, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Whitcombe, Mr. and Mrs. Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Hodgens, Mr. and Mrs. Matheson, Mrs. J. Lowes, Miss Davie, Miss Maclauchlan, Mr. Holdsworth, Mr. Rodney, , Mr. Fred. Lowes, Mrs. Godfrey, Mrs. Girdwood, Mrs. Kelsey and party, Miss Hare, Mr. Caselborg.
Mts. Keegan, of Sydney; is a guest of Miss Elsie Watson. Nurso May Logan has gone to Invercargill for a few weeks' holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Avery, of Kelburne, have returned from a visit to Christchurch. Miss Barbara'Putnam returned to Wellington last night from a •five-weeks' visit'to Dannevirke. Mr. A. M'lntosh has taken a lease of Mr. Kennedy Macdonald's house during Mr. and Mrs. Macdonald's absenco in England. Nurse Macandrew, one of the St. John Ambulanco district nurses, returned from a month's visit to tho south 011 Saturday. Mrs. A. Elder, of _ Wellington, t returned last week from a visit to Wangariui. Miss Elder is visiting Mrs. W. Wardell, of Masterton. Mr- , and Mrs. James Elliott, of Masterton, who reached Wellington on Saturday after an extended tour through the thermal regions, .also tho Waikato and Auckland districts, are at present visiting their son and daughter hero, and will return to their home during, the week.
