Lloyd-ficorgo had paid twenty thousand pound:; to avoic being cited in a divorce suit. The weekly, paper "Bystander" also apolo gised and paid .£'3oo to charity in connec tion with a similar libel. March M, 4.30 p.m.) London, March 13. : Counsel for the newspaper ''People" tciU dored an unqualified apologv, and accepted Mr. Lloyd-George's terms as to tho .verdict. Mr, I/loyd-Gcorgo entered tho witness box ■and said thero was not the slightest foundation for any of tho statements matlo by tlif "People." Tho Judgo considered that Mr. LloydGeorgo had acted with extreme 'moderation.
