9 SIR G. S. CLARKE'S OPTIMISM. [BY TELEOIUrU— INIF.SS ASSOCIATION —CO I'Till GUT.) London, March 12. Sir Sydenham Clarke, Governor of Bombay, was n guest of the Lodgo of Imperial Brotherhood, Bombay, consisting of Freemasons of all races, aiming at mutual cooperation. Sir Sydenham remarked, in tho course of a speech, that India's system of Government was on the evo of great changes—changes which, lie believed, would ho for tlio country's good. Ho added tlinb tho success of tho changes was dependent on tho co-opera-tion of all classes and creeds, and he rejoiced that ho was ahlo to associate himself with a movement to that end.
