Its total length will be 3500 miles. . Over 1200 miles of railway wero built in Canada in 1008. Although this is a remarkin bio increase, tho present year will probably show still greater expansion. There are under construction at tho'present time -1327 miles of* railway. • This extent will not be" completed daring the year, but it is estimated that the expenditure on construction by tho various lines will reach .£18,000,000^
