PROBABLE CANDIDATES. Although tho chief interest in the annual municipal campaign usually centres round the' Mayoral election in Wellington as well as in other parts of the Dominion, probable candidates for tho City Council arc being discus;ed. In order to ascertain the intentions of the present members of tho council (supplementing the statement that appeared in Thb Dominion of February 12) a reporter made inquiries, with the following result:— Tho following councillors intend coming forward again:— MR. T. BALLINGER, MR. T. CARMICHAEL, MR. F. COHEN, MR. R. FLETCHER, SIR. D. M'LAREN, MR. J. SMITH (most probably). Councillors J. Godber, W. H. Morrah, and M. Murdoch have definitely decided not to stand. The following members have .not yet como to a decision on the question: Councillors G. W. Shirtcliffe, F. M. B. Fisher, W. H. Hales, A. S. Biss, A. H. Hindmarsh, and J. P. Luko.
