HOCKEY.

* The dearth of good hookey referees is one of the main tonics in the annual report of the Wellington Hockey Referees' Association. The secretary, Mr. George Nathan, states that there has beer, a very great, shortage of good men, and anyone desirous of acting during the coming season should communicate with him. Tho report go&s on to refer to the proposed hockey referees conference, which was to have been held last year, but which had to bo postponed until the beginning of this season. An effort should bo made to hold it early, ns tho necessity for uniformity in decisions was very great, and was a matter that needed every attention. Mr. Nathan regrets that owing to business and other calls upon his time be will be unablo to accept the position of secretary for tho forthcoming year. In spile of what, pessimists say, Scienco holds all diseases at bay, And nine-tenths of our ills Can be treated by pills, Laxo-Tonic is leading the war. LAXO-TONIC PILLS, IOJd. ind Ib. Gd. 19
