The Mecca of the. boys is the association's range at .I'apiiwai, to which annually come representative cadets from Fernridge, Masterton, Carterton, Groytown, and Featherston cadct corps, each intent on winning tho championship in fair fight. Ten targets are needed for the number of competitors, and tho conditions are those usually observed in ndult matches. Tho targets, also, are those used by the men. To begin with is fired the match for the association's .£5, which is split up so as to provide numerous prizes, all of which must be taken in tho form of trophies; tho conditions are as above. This match finished, the competition for tho shield begins between teams of five boys from the different schools, nominated on the conclusion of the first match, and with the same conditions of firing. The championship is given to tho cadet making the highest scoro in the first and second competitions combined, and to tho winner goes tho trophy given annually by tho W.F.C.A., Ltd.
