LEAVING FOR ENGLAND TO-DAY. _ The Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout), liny, mg obtained a year's leave of absence, soils for Sydney to-day-en routo for England.' Ho will be accompanied by. The university celebrations at Geneva will claim his attendance in July, if his hoalth permits so much travelling. The nature of Sir Robert's ailment makes complete rest—especially physical rest—and .change imperative, and it is recognised that this can best be secured afhidst scenes far removed from those of his strenuous labour of many years past. Before sailing-to-day, Sir Robert will forward to the Governor tho final report of tiio Native Land Commission, of which he is chairman. Ho states that the consolidation of the laws relating to Native affairs is practically finished, and would have been finally revised if the Chief Justice had been ablo to work during the last few days. Tho Crown Law Department will doubtless put the finishing touches, tho work. v . Mr. Justice Williams, as senior puisne judge, will act as Chief Justice during Sir Robert Stout s absence
