Sir,—Tho through train tp and from Auckland is of great benefit, and tho result of much' planning and forethought, but one item swras to have crossing on: the Main ■ Road /at Johnsonvillo, -Unless some precaution' is, "taken, there Will be seroivs loss of. life here before long. Owing to the configuration of the road, a horseman, driver of a vehicle, or wotorcar:cannot 860 on either side any"approaching •• train, from which, as in tho case of tho Auckland, express, ha has no means <?f escape. The. notice of "Stop! Look out for the engine," is .not at alj times .observed.'; .1 ask :that .a man be. stationed' at tho crossing at tho time the through itrains are' due/,to warn.>the. ■'public and st<\p them from running"into dan- ; ger, It is so iasjr to be Vise after. the event, and isay, '.'I. allways would be killed at that\ crossing."
