She left Wellington on December 24, and is due in London about February 7.

THE ATHENIO'S CARGO. To local agents have received advice that the Shaw, Savill. and Albion Company's liner Athenic, at present en" route to New Zealand from London, has on board 3980 tons of cargo. Of this 1900 tons are for 'Wellington, 1000 tons for Lyttelton, and the Balance, excepting 340 tons for Hobart,' is for various New Zealand ports. The Athenic iB due'in Wellington about February 25. • ■ WHANGAPE FROM NEWCASTLE. ' On Saturday; January 9, the Union Company's steamer Whangape, laden with coal, left .Newcastle for Wellington. • She experienced fine weather till off Oapo Terawhiti,' when the -full force of a southerly gale accompanied by hign seas struck her.. The vessel made port minus.the cook's house,. which was situated on deck, and in addition, several ventilators were damaged. On completing discharge of the Wellington portion of her cargo, the Whangape goes south. ■: : heavy; weather. Saturday's reports from Greymouth and Westport recorded that bad weather was prevailing, although-not so bad as on Friday. The Map'ourika was expected to clear Greymouth on Saturday and Westport on Sunday, ■. being due here to-day. The. Putiki made another attempt to get away for Wanganui on Saturday morning. Savill and Albion Company's steamer Maman, which arrived at Auckland on Thursday night from Loudon, is 4000 tons of cargo for Wellington, tho vessel being due hero about January 23. From this port she'procoeds to Timaru with the residue of 1650 tons. . An exobang'o.reports that the first sailing ship to ■ loave Australia this season with wool for London is the Loch Carron, which sailed from Melbourne about two weeks ago. She carried 8746 bales of wool and a large quantity of general cargo. Four, other ships of the Loch Xine oro at present in Mclbonrne. The Loch Garrv is loading wool for Hull and Glasgow, the Loch Broom and tho Loch Torndon are loading for London, and the Loch Katrine: has just completed discharging a general cargo from Glasgow.' Three l others, the Loch Etivc, Loch Ryan and lioch Tay, are at present on tho way from Glasgow to Adelaide and Mslbouma.
