NAPIER HOSPITAL.
A STRONG PROTEST. ' (BT TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION'.) Napier, January 1L Dr. W. W. Moore, medical superintendent of the Napier Hospital, in a report submit, ted to the Hospital Trustees to-day, spolce strongly of: the insufficiency of accommodation at the institution. He said that the position had for a long time been'inconvenient and insanitary, and' it was now becoming serious, and quito intolerable, not to say indecent. The 'new chronica ward, would not relieve the pressure in tho General Hospital 1 in the least, cases that would go thcro wero never admitted into tho General Hospital at all.. The buildings of tho General Hospital were utterly out of date and inadequate, and'from a surgical point of view utterly lacking, with the exception of the operating theatre. A day rarely passed but somo patient was refused admittance solely on account of want of room ,and in saying that he referred only to cases that ought to bo admitted even under tho most stringent _ regulations.; . The trustees set up a committee to consider and report on tlio best manner of providibg increased accommodation and staff. '
