Tho roof of an old church collapsed at Max, in Switzerland, during a service, tilling 40 and injuring 60 of tho villagers. Some attribute the accident to-an earthquake. Others declare that it. was caused by tho ringing of the, bells at a time when the strength of the building was being impaired by an extension'of tho structure.
