" ; ADJOURNED MEETING. An adjourned meeting ef the Wellington District Land Board was held yesterday at the DJstriot/ Land and Survey Office,, there being presont:—Mr. j#s.' Mackenzie (Commissioner of Crown Lands, in tho chair), Messrs. A. Eeese, Jos.'Dawson, J. M. A'Court, and C. J. Canton. The following applications for land were .dealt with, 1 as follow: — v . Charles Gilford, regarding Section 1 Block 1 (Hawtrey Settlement).—Resolved to approve as from December 2i), 1908. (date of lodgment), if there is/power to do so; if not, as from January 7.
Ernest Stares was granted- thirty days in which te complete liis application for Section 3,;810ck I, Owhango.v, ' 1 G. M. . Syke's renewal, of application for Section 2, Ohakune Village Settlement,'was not approved; the section was allotted to, Clara : Ann Thompson, whose application was the only ,one completed. Mrs. M. J. Ammunson's application for Sections 3 and 4, Eflock XIX, Ohakune, having been amended, ,it was resolved to ballot between Messrs. E. Lyhll and T. J..'Patterson for Section 3, Ohakune Village Settlement, the result being in favour of Mr. Patterson. " Titles',were approved as follow:— F. .Mackenzie, 125 acres, ' Section 13, Blook- "X, Makuri; Mr. G; Durrant,, 610 acres, Section 8, Block XVI; Ohinewairua. __It was , resolved to recommend that Sections Blocks IX and V, Huajigarua Settlement), be allotted to Messrs. ruyard and Pilbrow, lessees of Sections' 13 and, 25, .Blocks XIX and V, Huahgarua, -without competition/ in terms of • Sectionsl (2), of'; the Act of 1908. lir. Kelly applied, to transfer . Section 87, Block XIV, Belmont -.(Epuni),.. containing 2 acresi to Mr. P. M. M'Grath. The Commissioner .advised the board that a previous ap-plication-.by Mr. Kelly. to transfer to Mr. Ei K. A. Eoberts has been aDnroved in October last.- The matter was held , over until ncit meeting. C.-J. Evan applied for a reconsideration of.the transfer of, Section 1, Block VI, Hanua, from : Mr. T. ■P. M'Cormick,' to, himself, the consideration-being and which application the boartl declined, to approve on August 27 last: It T was resolved to approve the'transfer on' the usual conditions, the distinct understanding, with Mr. Eyan that tho lease, being subject to concellation at any time, lie in this .event taking place, would not be entitled to .' any ■. compensation' for his - improvements, which would then become the property of the Crown.

Settlement lease, Section 50,.in the same settlement. ■It. was resolved in consideration of-all .the circumstances to approve of their doing so, at. an annuel rent of 10s.-, provided they plant willows on the remaining portion of. Section 282, assuggested by, Mr. Lundius. ..Mr. p; ,T. Murphy , wrote, statinor that t .Mrs. Murphy did not desire to have the wholo of Section 1. Block 111, Maungakaretu (Raketapauma 1.E.), transferred to hen but wished to have the half-interest of it. It was resolved to adhere to previous resolution'of November 2fl last, but to. approve of. the .milling timber agreement being consented to by.,the commissioners on behalf of. the board, as, won as the ranger certifies that the . house on the ground is a suitable and habitablo one.
