Palmerston North Notos^A very pleasant ending to the races, .was the little dance given by Mrs. Goring-Johns-ton at her residence, Oakhurst. , About thirty couples were present,' including many of tho visitors, among them being Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Duncan, Miss Doris Johnston, Miss •Sommerville, -Miss Gofing, ■ and Messrs. K., and lan Duncan, Hods'on, and Tom 'Williamson. Others present were:—Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Abraham, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cooper, Mrs. Tuson, and Misses Russell, Abraham, Wilson, Hewitt, and Levett. Mrs. \V. P. Levin" gave aI Very pleasant dance at her large house in the Rangitikei on New Year's Night. 'Visitors were present 1 from all parts, among otheis were: —Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Abraham,' Hewitt, Dalrymple, Guy Graham, and Tavernei-: A good many Palinerston peoplo went" over to Bulls for the races on Now Year's Day.' Mrs. Pascal wore a fine groy> striped gown, with largo hat trimmed with black bows. Mrs. Warburton's grey check was effectively trimmed with black braid and blue roses, and with it was worn .a , large cream hat trimmed with geraniums.' 'Mrs. F. S. M'Rao wore green linen frock J and hat, of green straw with heliotrope flowers.' Mrs. P. C. Daniells had a" very handsome gown of black and white, trimmed with'lace, and hat to match. Mrs. J. P. Innes, 'cream cloth Eton costume, and blue hat very prettily trimmed with sweet peas. Others who went over were:— Mrs. H. R. Cooper and Miss Hewitt,' Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Abraham, Mr. and Mrs. C. Louisson, and Mrs. and the Misses Bannister. ;•" Miss Olga Lepett was the guest of Mrs. 0. J. Monro' for the races." Miss Weaver Beotham has been staying with Mrs. R. L Levin. 1 . "Nutt, mother of the bride, held a reception at the Goring Street Hall, at which a great many guests were present. The tables and hall weie decorated with daisies out of compliment to the bride Mrs. Nutt wore a handsome black frock and smart Mack hat, and Mrs. Webb mother of the bridegroom, wore a creen ma iume, with black picture hat g ° Mrs. Herdman left on Saturday to visit • mends at Westport. Mrs. Algar Williams is leaving to-day for * visit to her mother in Christehurch. •Miss Seddon'left on Saturday for a visit to Be West Coast. Miss Butts is visiting Mrs. Freeman Jack<on at Palmerston.
