One ;and a half pounds beef steak, two or threo potatoes, three or four .tomatoes, two onions,-salt and pepper. Pluca the steak In a baking tin with .1 small ( c[uantity of smoking hot; fat, cook fivo minutes, basting tho meat,, then cover it with tho onions sliced; season with pepper and salt, and cook it until tender.- The potatoes should bo sliced and added about naif an hour after the onions, and the tomatoes sliced and added after the potatoes. When all is cooked put in on a hot dish, make a nice gravy and pour round. FOE TO-jiOEROW. One leg of mutton, turnips, parsley, lemon • iuice, 3oz. suet, breadcrumbs; marmalade. *
