At a special meeting of tho committee of llio Northern Boxing Association held tonight tho referee of tho contest between Kane and Smith (Mr. T. Brown) attended and explained that he had made a mistake in adding np the points, and that the decision should have been awarded to Kane. After hearing the referee's explanation tho committee agreed that.it was not in their power to alter the referee's decision, but decided to award without prejudice the full amount of the first prize to Kane and the full amount of tho draw to Smith. It. was also decidcd to refer the question of allotment of the title of professional middle-weight champion to the New Zealand Boxing Council.
