CHARGES AGAINST BOYS.
- (BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, October 19. Several young boys, ranging in age from eight to thirteen years, were before Mr. Kettle, S.M., in the Children's Court to-day on various charges of theft. Four boys, who broke into the city market on Sunday night, confessed to stealing fruit and robbing tills there. One of them was ordered to receive six strokes of the birch; two others were committed to an industrial school; and the fourth was discharged. Eight boys, convicted of stealing various small sums from a. shop at Newmarket, were also dealt with, the ringleaders being ordered, to rccoivo the rod, and the others being discharged with a severe lecture.
