Dr. Thacker, candidate for the Lyttelton ieat, addressed'a-meeting of electors last night. He stated that he would support the •present Government'just so far as it kept its present high level of administration, and gave effect to Parliamentary and local-Gov-ernmentl reform, and -reforms relating to food supply, education, labour, and defence. He was accorded a vote of thanks.

Park-(Tiki Paaka), Native interpreter, of Wanganui,-is'announced as a candidate for the Eastern Maori Electorate at the general elections. It is' understood that Mr. Park, who has already .begun his campaign, is not standing as a supporter of the present Government. Mr. W;.Forbes,' a' candidate for the Wellington ' South seat, addressed a meeting of the electors at Fiillford's Hall, Brooklyn, last evening. Mr. Heridricksen presided over a large attendance. Mr. Forbes spokeoor;n r ; similar lines to his 'previous addressj ■ and, at the conclusion, he was accorded a hearty .vote of'thanks and . Mr.. J. E.'Fitzgerald, a candidate for the Suburbs seat, ■ addressed a large ; audience at Tawa Flat last evening, Mr. W. Jaenes presiding. The candidate spoke 'on general questions- of policy, and dealt particularly with agriculture, the., extension ;of .the industrial centres outside tho city, and the purchase of the Manawatu line. At the conclusion, a hearty vote,of thanks, and confidence was carried, on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr. T. Thomas, and a strong committeo was formed to advance his interests; Mr. Fitzgerald speaks at Orofton to-night.. •. Mr. J.-E.'Fitzgerald's meetings at Crofton and Khandallab' are advertised. Tho' electors of Kaiwarra are invited to meet Mr. Jno. P. Luke .in the Churchroom, Kaiwarra, this, evening, at 8 o'clock. Mr. Byron Brown's meetings in the Otaki electorate are advertised. .
