Euchro Party at Petone. A most enjoyable euchre party and dance were given- in the Oddfellows' Hall, Petone, on Wednesday evening;.- by the ■ members _ofthe Ngatiawa Hockey Club (writes a P intone correspondent)'.' The hall was decorated with-' festoons of clematis. tied with, red and white ; 'ribbons : (the club's colour's). Miss' Fanily Richardson gave a delightful tea'to about' forty'guests, all of whom thoroughly appreciated the charm of tho setting.: Miss Fanny Richardson received in, a pretty frock of lavender musliii'with floral hat. ' Miss Richardson's frock -was of pale grey, voile;' Mrs. Balliuice wore a costume of-Wcdgewood blue with hat to match; Mrs. de. Castro, blue frock; Miss Holmes, browii crepe de Chine, and large plumed hat'; Mrs. Dykes, cream serge frock and lavender hat ; Miss Tregea'r, brown costume; Miss Baiichop, grey, frock and black picture hat'; Miss Dimant," pink cloth costume, and -browii' hat trimmed with lilac. Bazaar at St. Mark's. . • St, Mark's Church wants to have a' beaut.iful -room for tho Sunday School infants and to have it built on tho proper-kindergarten plan .with sloping floor. To raise funds for this tho ladies of the parish are holding a bazaar in tho schoolroom. It began yesterday, afternoon, and is to continue this evening.: So many workers aro helping that tho Btalls have been double-banked, and to-day an entirely new lot of stallholders takes charge. The schoolroom lias been nicely decorated with flags, and the stall's havo: each a special- scheme of decoration, the most effec- • tive being the flower stall,_ where quantities of red poppies are used against a white back-
ground. In addition to tho stalls thoro is a gay Christmas tree, and cookery demonstrations are being given by Miss Stewart on a Perfection Oil Cooker, kindly lent by Mr. Winder for tho purpose, the products of her skill being disposed of in the tea-room near by. The list of yesterday's stallholders is as follows: —Sweet stall (choir), Misses Evatt and Ward; work and fancy stall (working bee), Mesdames Bell, Nicholls, Ward, Johnson, Harrower, and the Misses Sanders and Goldfinch; . Christmas tree (Girls' • Club), Misses Morgan, Spierling, Varo, and Bell; Bran tub, (Girls' Club), Misses M. Bastings and Caterer; refreshments, Mesdames Moore and Blackey, and Misses, H. Moore, Christie, and L. Madely; plain and fancy stall (St. Mark's Guild), Mrs. Watkins, and Misses Lenvith, Sandys, and Wilson; ■ flower stall, the Misses Webb and Moore, assisted by Misses J. Eteveiieaux, I.' Stace, E. Ronton, M. Caterer, M. Hollands, Tui Poutowera, and Master. Hugh Johnson. . The evening was opened with , a maypolo dance by the children of the Sunday School, trained by Miss Bell. Miss Marjory Fletcher, a pupil, of -Miss Beere, then gavo several fancy dances. 1 Thechoir, under the-direction of Mr..'Watkins,' choirmaster,' followed with a number of selections, and a number of glees were also' contributed by members' of the choir;. Miss 1 Hives-will remain in England with relatives—A 'daughter of Mr. "J. Stuckey, who recently left the Dominion,,is married to a clergyman. The'family are now residing in England.
