INSTITUTE OF JOURNALISTS.
The adjourned annual general meeting of the Now Zealand Institute of Journalists was held yesterday afternoon in the Press Room, Parliamentary Buildings. Thero was a satisfactory attendance. Mr. F. K. Reeves, of Wellington, was appointed president for the - ensuing year, and Messrs. W T . S. Douglas (Auckland), C. E. Wheeler (Wellington), and G. R. Allen (Christchurch) vice-presidents. A resolution was passed affirming the neces- . sity of a permanent appropriation from the. -' general funds, as a slight recognition of the work ontailed upon, the general secretary. It was further resolved that in tho opinion of tho meeting the annual contribution of branches' should bo increased from one-half to three-eighths of tho subscriptions, so as to enable the council to carry out the programmo. i( which it has successfully. iuaugu-.'j,. ratod.,;Tlie';..meeting also recorded. preciati6iV,<#'tlio services of the retiring prosiVV.t)y dent (Mr. C.
