DAIRY COWS VALUABLE.
The snalhuss of the number of clearing sales of dairy herds in the Ekctahuna'district' this season (says .our correspondent) is very pronounced, considering tho prices cows aro realising. From inquiries : made the fatt is- attributable to : the fall in.the price cf wool, l and to tho prospect'of butter being a high price next season. Last- season sittlers who sold their herds in-order to go ill for wool growing made, as subsequent; events have shown, an unprofitable changJ. The general impression is that cows are g<ing to be valuable next year, and consequently dairymen are holding tight. As the dairying season approaches, it will he found that the demand for 'milch cows will exceed the supply, and consequently prices will, go up with a bound. ' ••'■ -.
