Mr. James Moore (missipnor) occupied the chair, and delivered a temperance address. Nine nion took the pledgo of total abstinenco. A conundrum competition was won by • sailors from ships in port. Several popular choruses wero sung by tho audioncc. Items woro contributed as follows: — Pianofort-o duet, Misses Tingoy and I'ringlc; recitation, Miss May Harvey; song, Mr. Hickman; violin solo, Miss Bedford; song, Miss Harvey; rocital, Mr. Berry (H.M.S. Encounter); recitation, Mr. Tingey; comedietta, Misses Harvoy. Every item was encored. A clever gymnastic display was given by Mr. H. W. Hunter, H.M.S. Encounter,
