SOME BIG CONTRIBUTIONS. (BT TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENTS.) Dunedln, Juno 22. Staff Captain Arnott, who has been oollccting in New Zealand for {lie Salvation Army's Homo at Middlomarch, arrived in Duncclin on Saturday night, and left this morning to oatcli tho steamer at tho Bluff for Melbourne. The. sum of £2500 odd has boon raised, and tho Captain is delighted with tho result of his tour. Among tho donations is .one of £600 from the estate of Mrs. Rockio, and there are several of £100 and £50. .Captain Arnott also canvassed for subscriptions in the north for the Pakatoa Island llomo for Inebriates, and mot with great success. One of tho most substantial .subscriptions for tho Homo was from the Auckland' Brewers' Association, which gave a cheque for £600.
