THE RIVAL WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATIONS.
The war between the Wairarapa and Masand P. Associations lias advanced another stage (writes our correspondent) in the ultimatum delivered by the Mastorton Society, that in future it intends to hold its annual ram and ewe fair without tho cooperation of the Wairarapa organisation. For a number of years the.two associations havo aoted together with reference to tho holding of the Tam fairs, ithe Wairarapa Society being awarded a third of tho net profits; . It is now'somewhat-pointedly stated in the Wairarapa that -the Masterton Association appropriated the ram fair in tho first instance, but : members of the Masterton body protest that the ram fair was offered to it gratis some, years ago, -because tho Wairarapa Association Iwas losing money over their, reuture, and that the offer was provisionally accepted if the soutliorn body. would agree to take one-third of tho net profits and'at tho same time become liable .lor ,a third of ; tho loss, should any bo' 'ineiirrcd.' ~'
