, CONSTRUCTION SCHEME. TO COST OVER'TWELVE MILLIONS. OY TELKGRArn—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIOUT (Rec. Juno 4, 11.21 p.m.) London, June 4. The Committ'eo appointed last year by tho Secretary for India (Viscount-Morley) to inquire into tho finance and.working of Lidian railways has submitted its roport. Tho committco was presided over by Sir James L. Maelcay (an Anglo-Indian merchant, who has served on many Government committees), and included tho eminent financier, Sir Felix Schustcr and Sir David Barbour. The committeo unanimously reported in favour of ail annual expenditure during tho next eight years of 12} million - sterling' on railway construction and development. It proposes that nine millions of the money bo raised in London, during years- in which market conditions aro normal; and that the balanco bo raised in India.
