Thomas Lester pleaded 'guilty to a charge of indecency in 'I'aranaki Placo on May 23, and was convictcd and fined £5 and costs os., in default 21 days' imprisonment. - A plea of not guilty s-as entered by John Walsh to a chargc of being tho father of a certain illegitimate child, and having- fiiilod to provide for its maintenance. A remand until May 2!) was granted, bail being allowed in the sum of £25 and ono surety of £25. _ . A .For insobriety Otins. Lawrence was convicted arid fined 10s,. in default 48 hours' imprisonment, and Mary Cahill was convicted and discharged. Fivo first offenders were dealt with, thrco being filled 10s., ono 65.,. and the other being convicted and discharged.
