, TRAIN COLLIDES WITH A JICCER. A MAN FATALLY•. INJURED. (BY TELEGRAPH.—PHEBS ASSOCIATION.) t/ Auckland, May 25. A'collision occurred near Penrose to-night between' an : Onehunga-bound train and a railway jigger, on which were seated two men- named Matthew Brennan (a platelayer) and James Barton. Barton was shockingly injured, and died within a few minutes. 1 Brennan sustained slight injuries to < 'his J hea'd. Barton was a plumber residing near Onchunga, and ho leaves a wife and five young children. ' STRUCK BY AN ENGINE. Auckland,. Mav 25. A man named J. O'Loughlin, while , attempting to cross in front of the 5.25. p.m. train to-night at the road crossing near tho Papakura station, was struck by tho engine l and killed, his skull an<l legs being fractured.
