ANNUAL MEETING OF PARISHIONERS. f The annual'meeting of parishioners of St. Mark's Church was held in the schoolroom last evening, the Rev. A; M. Johnson, M.A., presiding. .'/ 1 : The adoption of, the report and balance sheet,' a precis of which has been published, waS :agreed to after a/short-discussion, during'which reference was made to the very satisfactory position as disclosed by the report and balance-sheet/ -to/the '• work", done /by the late curate-in-charge, the Rev. J. G. Bartlett. J.-.-Hueston.' ■ , :- 'It was resolved that.the churehwardens'bo given/permission to pay over the sunt' of £150 to the funds of tho Parish .Trust Board,, ■such sum to be.added to,the,rebuilding fund. Speaking in the above, connection Mr. -Meek' romarke'd that he had heard it predicted 'that/ as ' the -suburbs became populated, pepbe leaving the church and making room for newcomers, which removals would render it- unnecessary to enlarge the church for imariy . years to come. This had not been his c ip'prierice, and although/the architect said tho/church, was good for another 20 or 25 years,; it seemed to him that if. tho attendance'at the church "went on increasing as it had done, the question of enlarging the building would come earlier than somo people anticipated. It would be khown to, most of. thbs'e present, that Mr. Coffey had . Everything-' possible had. been done; and tho . building' was now almost a new house. ' It was resolved to vote a sum of £50 out of the ; .surplus'/to: the general church' funds; Votes - pf. thanks were - passed to parish workers;, and to the. auditors, and a special vote to, Mr/R/R. : Bray.'
