Advices from Portland, Oregon, erroneously reported that a citizen had been murdered in a Chinese restaurant. This causcd 1500 inhabitants of Lethbridge, in the Alberta district, to wreck tho Oriental quarter of the town.
The ordinary police force was powerless, but a brigade of mounted police ultimately dispersed the rioters. '
