INTER-UNIVERSITY MATCH. Iho inter-'Varsity cricket match, Victoria College v. Canterbury College, was concluded at the Athletic Park yesterday' afternoon, and resulted in a win for Victoria College, who made a recovery in the second innings, l>y eight runs. In their first innings Victoria College, compiled 80, and Canterbury v- s ? ou . ~w . ',th 102. On resuming yesterday, Victoria College were sent in to bat, and H'ero disposed of for 160. Castle and Niven contributed largely to tho total, making 52 and 36 respectively. Bogle, 19, helped tho score along, and Mackay and Skelly, 13 each, c reached double figures. Mulgan, four for 30, and Reid, three for 55, were tho best of the. visitors' bowlers. Canterbury College made 130, Mulgan being top-scorer with 46. Macfarlano, 16, Hopkins, 13, and Jennings, 12, were the only other doublefigure scorers. Pope, Macdougall, and Niven shared the bowling honours for Victoria College.
