EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS. ACCIDENT TO A STEAMER. [BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, Decombor 5. News by tho Navua from tho Islands today states that tlirco shocks of earthquake were felt in Levuka on Thursday, November 7. Tho first shock occurred at. 10.30 a.m., , and tho second at 11.30 a.m. Tho third shock occurred at 7.25 on Thursday evening, and was tho heaviest ono of the, throe. Probably these earthquakes have somo connco : tion, with tho volcanic disturbance at Tonga and Samoa. ! .Tho .steamer Kilbride, which wont ashore, at the entranco to Suva harbour on Novomber IS, was floated off again the noxt evening without sustaining any damage. Tho steamer was endeavouring to make the harbour in torrents of rain, when she grounded on tho western reef of tho μ-issngo, within a few yards of the wrock of the barquo Norden. Several effort*; woro made to fcow tbo vessel off tho reef without suocoss, and then somo of tho cargo was transferred to a lighter, after which tbe nxwj floated off without any assistance. ~..,.
