The structure e throughout, is in brick. Tho interior consists of one large ward with provision for thirty bods. Thero are two small wards with one bed in each, and one ward with two beds for special cases, whilo at the north end thcro is a sunroom fronted with glass, this being for tho old people on days when tho 0 wind is too cold to allow them outside. Tho wards aro heated by hot water radiators, tho only coal fire hoing in the sunroom, whero s the old men may sit and smoke or read in j'l winter time. The . floors throughout' are in j, reinforced concrete covered with wood, and n the ceilings are of stamped steol. . . Glass , s partitions li'etweon the sunroom and tho ward 0 allow the sunlight to stream down the ward, and there is a . window between each two J bods, and another in each l corner/ At tho r south end aro the dispensary and ward 0 scullery, a room for patients' clothes with j s thirty-fpur lockers, 'and a room for clean y linen. Tho two-bed ward is at tho same end. 1 On tho oast sido of the main ward is the n sanitary tower of ono story, similar to tho 0 hosiptal towers, >and cut olf from the main . room by a " cross ..ventilating " lobby. Two bathrooms, lavatories, etc., are provided in j tho tower. The floor of the building, being 2ft. from the ground, an inclined way is provided at the main entrance, which faces the ■ west, and this leads into a porch. Tho singlebed wards are placed ono on each side of the sunroom, and they have, separate doors of oxit, being intended for' dying patients or cases which require quietness.
