Vcsterday afternoon,: Mr. Jamos Asli-' croft, District Coroner, held an inquiry at -tlie Lower Hntt touching the death of Martin IC. Coriolly, a boy of ten years, v/ho had boon drovrncd in. the Hutt River .the previous day whilst bathing. Formal evidence of the accident having been,given, a verdict of accidental drowning was returned. At the . instanco of the Coroner a rider, r was added, om bodying tho need of prccautiqns being takori for the safety of children when bathing. ; ■ . An elderly married woman named Margaret Sponce, aged 70 '(no address given), was admitted to the-Hospital at: a .quarter past nine las tnight, sufroring from a dinlocated colhir-bono. It appears that the injury resulted from a fall on tho' pavomont. The patient has two sons omployod as conductors.on the. Corporation tramways.'
