'. .TRENTHAM. ; Owing to the fact that the Wellington Rifle Battalion was engaged in .field tactics on tho hills near Newtown, there was, .a very, small muster of riflemen at Trontiiam on Saturday, only four corps being represented. The' weather was perfect, and'some excellent shooting was done. On the 200 yds. range', Gunner Plimmor, of the D Battery, made the possible, 35 points; Rifleman Burns," of the Karori Club; made 31 pcints, and Corporal. Piercoy, of the Engineers, put up. 33 points. At 500 yds., the best scores were made by llifloman - Marshall, of the Karori Club, 31 points; Gunner Plimmcr and 'Bombardier Wickcns, of tho D Battery, both scored 34 points; Sergt.-Major Skelley, of the D Battery, and Lieut. Ifay each put lip 33 points. The shooting of the Karori Club was remarkably steady, the first ten. men averaging .03 points''out of a possible 70 points off the' Captain Petherick, of the D., Battery, acted as range officer. .
