Councillor M'Leod supported tho motion. Ho agreed with Councillors East and Bell that tho sections with a frontago of 40 feet were the most convenient. -However, ho was of opinion that, so long as a quarter of an aero was allowed for each building, the clause providing for a minimum frontago of 40 feet should not apply. Councillor East was permitted to add the following clause to his motion: " That tho by-law providing that building allotments must contain a quarter aero, stand."
Councillor Witt thought that tho minimum frontage should bo fixed at 33 feet. Councillor Brodio moved as an amondment that tho proposed reduction relate to area and not to frontageCouncillor Witt seconded pro forma. iTho Mayor favoured fixing tho minimum frontage at 40 feot. ; Ho pointed out that, if it were further reduced, additional precautions would have to be taken to prevent the spread of any firo which might occur.
