Speaking at tho Christ-church Anglican Cathedral 011 Sunday evening in regard to tho complacency with which religion was regarded by most -people, Bishop Julius, according to the "Times," stated that a sermon 011 " Faith " was looked upon as almost intolerable by congregations. "The very word is repulsive now," he said. " because it has been dropped' from the height it attained in the past- ages and is now a.thing to dispute about. If I were to say that I would preach 011 ' Faith' half of you would fall asleep and t-lio other half would murmur ' Same old thing again.'". The Rev, Forbes Phillips is organising a pageant to take placo at Gorleston next summer, the book of which' he will 1 , write himself. Ho has been promised £1000 towards the expenses of tho undertaking.
