A club race was sailed on Saturday by the Thormlon Dinghy Sailing Club for a trophy presented by ,fllr. L. Jones. Tlic following boats" cqnipetral:—E. • • liailey's_ ■ .Tlielma (scratch), Ji. Stirling's Vera (.Jinin.), A. Aldred's Irox (ljmin.). L. Sargents' Oeo (l'min.),' J; Swan's Blowfly (2}min.)j . 'J: Scott's Sprny (3-Jmiii.). and W. Mooro'a Ajax (3Jmin.). On tho brat to windward in tho first round the Petrel established a lead, closely followed by Blowfly and Ajn.x. in the second round the Hlowlly and Tliolma rounded the home. buoy.together; tlit; latter gained in the last -.stretch', and-won by tho. narrow margin of two seconds: The finishing times wore:— Thelma (3hrs. 39min. 10 sees.), 1. '■ ■Blowfly (3hrs. 39min. 12secs.),-2.' ' Petrol (3hrs. 41.mii!. 20secs.), 3. Ajax (3hrs. 40:nin. 20sccs.).
