' /Finance-';Md- ; reported that tho following tenders had been accepted South ' Sanders Bros., £1186 (the Committee gave instructions for the employment;,of an inspector l of works); Levin —Science, 20 stools at; ss. 9d., Max'Kreissig; Training CollegeBells and electric wiring, £7.105. •' The Secretary was instructed: —(1) To purr chase a now school sito at Eketahuna, at a cost'of £520; (2) to offer the amount of Government \valuation for tliiv school site atLowor Hutt, provided that' right of access from main road is granted; (3) .to- inform tho Mayor of Miramar that the Board is prepared to favourably consider the erection of a school, provided the residents furnish a suitable, site. .' V.. 'A • Tho following, rccommbndations from the Works Committee, were approvedJohnsonville—That. tho additional area to increaso tho now'site to five acres bo purchasod, providing it is obtained oil tho terms set forth in the Minister's letter to tho School, Committee; Maranui—That an acre, in addition to tho half-acre presented by Mr. Crawford, be purchased, tho matter being remitted to a committee, consisting of the chairman, Messrs. Allan and Aitkon; Newtown—New cistern; Tauherenikau—Residence; Scarborough—Fencing ; Maryborough—Residence ; ParlivalfrMschool;ditto; • Residence; Grey town—Offices, etc.;. Reiltiorangi—Renewal of blinds; that application bo made for grant for:—Longbush—Residenco; Training College—Caretaker's cottage; Pahiatua— That rent for horse paddock- be,'- declined; Martinborough—That rent for additional aero, £6 per-annum, bo approved. - - The committee appointed by'the Board to report on the Wadestown School, recommended, as the result of a visit paid on Saturday, October 19, with tho Chief Inspector and the Secretary—(l) That the school should be conducted in the present building for a few years; (2) that a-grant ,of half cost, of dividing ffence on south side be authorised; (3) that, with a "view to providing a small area of playground on the. present sito, an estimate be propared. of tho cost'of forming a terrace not exceeding 50ft. wide at tho ; north side of the site; (4) that, with a view ' to providing ground for cricket and othor games, an estimate .be made of tho cost of i preparing a sjnall portion ot tho.new site, of i fencing it, and of clearing off tho gor'so.
