" : A' meeting of delegates, from the football clubs of the ; four New' Zealand University Colleges, was ,; held in Auckland-, at' Easter; to consider the tidvisableness :of instituting homc-and : home matches between the. New Zealand University; and Sydney University.; It was stated by • the Universities in a letter to the Union that, undor present conditions of the district scheme in Auckland, the Auckland "University College would be unable to take part.' ' The University suggested that the New Zealand Union : be aslcod to admit any man who might be picked from the A.U.C. who might- not be eligible owing to .the position of the A.U.C.- Football , Club. Tho letter .also requested that the New Zealand .Union should advise, district Rugby Unions to admit University Colleges: into their schemes. It was decided to advise the University delegates that the Auckland Union is contemplating revision v of its' constitution, and 1 that' it seems probable that some - arrangement will be made to meet the" wishes of the University. ■ The : Committee resolved : that, as there was no urgency, the matter should be ■ held over for. final, decision , until... the Auckland Union's action had been completed. It was decided to inform affiliated Union? that it is not illegal to pay a'referee for loss .of time, but that it should be pointed out to ii referee receiving payment for loss of time that lie would thereafter bo debarred from playing football. ■■ Messrs.
