A SCHOOL BURNED.

Dunedin, October 8. JSas't Taieri school, situated near Mosgiol, was totally destroyed by firo at, midday to-day, nothing being saved but a. portiou of the furniture and the school records. The school was a wooden .building of throe rooms, and was' built in 1863. Tho fire was caused by a small boy lighting a match and dropping it under tho weather boards amongst some old birds'-nqsts. The building was not insured. This is the only schopl dostroyed by iiro in the Otago education district during tho past three years.
