GENERAL FARM NEWS.
A meeting of the directors of the Belevedore Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, was held at Carterton on Monday afternoon, when the first of the season's payment for the four weeks' supply of milk was ■ passed, Amounting to £197 135., being at the rate of Gd. per lb. for 7986 lbs. of butter-fat. The shareholders met afterwards, and elected Mr. T. Conwell to the vacancy on tho directorate. .. On Tuesday the Parkvale Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited, paid out to its suppliers for tho milk supply from Sept. 2 to Sept: 30, inclusive, the sum of £240 9s. 10d., being the first payment of the present season. The first ton of cheese from the newly-erected Otaraia factory at Maryborough was sent away on Monday. A supply of 381 gallons of milk was received at the Tawaha (Martinbbrbugh) Dairy Fuctory on 'Monday, the opening day. * Shearing has begun on Mr. G. Wheeler's farm at Stanway. Tho Manawatu Spring Show for 1908 is fixed for Nov. 4, 5, and 6. It is' understood that this will be in the week preceding the Canterbury Show. . The importance of the Manawatu A. and P. Association'in the eyos of the newspaper world was emphasised at yesterday's meeting of tho Executive Committee, when no fewer than six pressmen were present. They-com-prised the editors of the " Manawatu Daily Times," and the " Foilding Star," the agricultural editor of The Dominion, tho Manawatu representative of The Dominion, the Manawatu representative of the " New Zealand Times," and a representative of the " Manawatu Standard."
